Spring has almost sprung, and it's about that time to revive my obsession with nail lacquer. I didn't have the honors of manicuring my 7-year old niece's nails, but thankfully my sister brought out her manicuring skills for this morning's post. Take a look at Essie's 'Madison Ave-hue', an orchid pink-purple shade with silver micro shimmer throughout. After many manicures using Essie's 'Splash of Grenadine', I dreamed of a similar shade but with shimmer, and here it is, the color we've all been waiting for! This lovely hue is the standout of their Spring 2013 Madison Avenue Collection, but I'm keen on visiting the rest of the collection -- also inspired and named after fashion capitals.
If you know me, you'd know that I'm partial to neutral shades (black, white, gray, brown), and then there's pink. There's something iconic about neutral shades, and as for pink, it's always struck me as a pretty and feminine color. The harmony of a little pink and a little shimmer in 'Madison Ave-hue' brings a flirty and glam shade, and one that is already a favorite of mine! Perhaps this also calls for a trip to New York? Essie captured the essence of Spring with the pastel shades in this collection, but also added some bold and fashion forward hues. 'Madison Ave-hue' is perfect for Spring and will work well into the Summer days. Pair it with some sparkly accessories and a summer tan, and you're all set for a beach day or night out on the town.
